Development Software

There are a number of tools available for the AVR board on the web.

A basic suit of GNU software includes:

• Binutils (for manipulation of object files etc)
• GCC for the compiler (c and c++)
• AVR Libc for the runtime libraries (printf etc)
• Programmer software (UISP)

In windows these are available from the WinAVR website.

For linux, you can download the source code for each tool and compile it your self or look on the internet for packages for the distribution of linux/UNIX you are using.

I have compiled fairly up-to-date version of the tools in RPM format for Fedora Core 5 users here for easy download and installation:
